Dhruvi Modi
Superstar Rajinikanth on Tuesday finally broke silence about the 2019 election results. While addressing the media outside his residence in Chennai, he praised Narendra Modi and said that he will be attending the Prime Minister’s swearing-in ceremony in Delhi on 30 May. Amongst many topics of discussion, he also shed light on his opinion about the promise made by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on the linkage of rivers in Tamil Nadu.
When asked about Union Minister Nitin Gadkari saying that his first job will be to link Godavari and Krishna rivers to bring more water to Tamil Nadu, the actor-turned-politician responded saying, “I really appreciate the thought of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on the linking of the Krishna, Godavari and Cauvery rivers despite Tamil Nadu not voting for NDA.”
The BJP state unit on 24 May posted a tweet quoting the Union Minister for Shipping and Water Resources and River Development, where he said that his first project will be the completion of the river linking project that has been in the works for almost a decade.
BJP State Chief Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan expressed her feelings about this on Twitter, saying that she was in tears when she was asked about the Union Minister prioritizing Tamil Nadu even after losing in the state.
